What is a Wheel Alignment?  

Over time, the tires on your vehicle become unaligned. Typically, this happens when you hit an object on the road, like a pothole. This can also happen when you get a flat tire and need to replace it.

When your tires are unaligned, your vehicle isn’t evenly distributing pressure to all of your tires. Whichever tires are getting more pressure are going to wear out more quickly, which means that some of your tires have a higher chance of popping on the road.

Plus, when your tires are unaligned, your vehicle isn’t performing optimally. This means that you aren’t getting the best fuel economy your vehicle can achieve.  

How to Know When You Need a Wheel Alignment

Your best bet when it comes to wheel alignments is to have your tires checked at every other vehicle service appointment, like when you get your oil changed. However, there are other ways to know when you need this critical service task, like when you have a new tire put on.  

While you’re driving, see if your car veers to one side immediately after you release the wheel. If you need to constantly keep your steering wheel slightly turned in one direction, your tires are probably unaligned.
