Honda Leads Auto Industry with Eight ENERGY STAR Plants

For years, Honda has been one of the leading automakers when it comes to conservation and sustainability. In 2020, Honda continued to set the standard in terms of sustainable manufacturing, and this year, Honda has already earned eight ENERGY STAR certifications.

Our Honda Energy Conservation Efforts  

Out of all U.S. automakers, Honda is the only OEM with eight auto plants that have earned EPA distinctions for energy efficiency. In total, two Honda transmission plants, two engine plants, and four Honda mass production plants have earned recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

To qualify for this designation, an automaker must demonstrate a dedicated commitment to reducing fuel emissions. Speaking personally, our team has worked tirelessly to reduce emissions and stick to energy efficiency practices through all stages of production.

Here are just some examples of the strides we have made toward sustainability:  

• For the 15th year in a row, our Honda Marysville Auto Plant and East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio have both earned ENERGY STAR distinctions. 
• For the ninth year in a row, our Honda Manufacturing of Indiana plant has received an ENERGY STAR distinction.  
• For the second time, our Honda Manufacturing of Alabama plant has received an ENERGY STAR distinction.  
• For the first time ever, our Honda Precision Parts of Georgia transmission plant has earned recognition for its efficiency efforts.
