1. Wash and Detail Your Car – The first step in your vehicle’s Summer maintenance is clearing out all the accumulated dust, dirt, and debris from your vehicle. 2. Inspect Your Tires – Chances are that you may be putting extra miles on the road this Summer. Make sure that your tires are in proper road condition. Check the pressure levels and inspect the tread depth. Ideally, your vehicle’s tires should have at least 2/32 inches of tread. Finally, visually inspect each tire for any signs of damage on the sidewall.
3. Check Your A/C System – As the temperature goes up, you will be using your vehicle’s A/C system more and more. Turn on the A/C system and check to make sure that you are getting cool air from each vent. Also, be sure to change the cabin air filter. Finally, if you notice any odd odors while the A/C is on, then consider having your vents cleaned.
4. Inspect Your Windshield Wipers – During the Summer, you will likely experience more showers on the road. Make sure that your vehicle’s windshield wiper blades are in proper condition. If you notice any peeling rubber or bent blades, then you should have your wiper blades replaced right away. If your wipers appear to be in good condition, see how they operate. Ideally, your wipers should not make any squeaking sounds and should maintain good contact with the glass.
5. Check the Battery – Finally, check your vehicle’s car battery. If you notice any dim lights or any hesitation at start-up, then your battery may either need terminal cleaning service or it may need to be replaced.
