Don’t Undersell the Number of Miles You Will Drive

With most lease deals, drivers will be allowed to drive their leased Honda vehicle about 12,000 to 15,000 miles at max per year. However, that’s just not going to work for some drivers.

For example, what if you know you will regularly have to drive your vehicle large distances? Or, what if you need to do a lot of driving for your job?

In these cases, you may need to negotiate for a higher mileage limit. This may result in higher monthly payments on your lease but exceeding the limit can result in some big fees.

Don’t Get More/Less Car Than You Need

It happens all of the time: a driver leases a Honda SUV even though they only need a sedan or vice versa. Oftentimes, drivers will avoid leasing an SUV because they are typically more expensive than sedans that came out the same year, but they forget that they need that space.

Take stock of what you realistically need out of a vehicle. If you need space for other passengers or the things you will be hauling, go with the SUV. If not, don’t pay more than necessary and go with a Honda sedan.

Not Negotiating

When you go to a dealership to buy or finance a Honda vehicle, you will negotiate the deal with the sales team. When you lease a vehicle, you can still negotiate the deal. Just because the first number you heard might sound intimidating, that doesn’t mean there isn’t any wiggle room or other options that you can’t figure out with the dealership.
