When you buy a Honda, what does Certified Pre-Owned mean? The CPO meaning for Honda is a little different than other manufacturers because Honda has a more detailed pre-owned vehicle grading system. There are three levels of HondaTrue pre-owned vehicles and we’re going to go over them all.

HondaTrue Vehicles at a Glance

There are three levels of HondaTrue Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, making the CPO meaning for Honda slightly different than other brands. Here’s a quick rundown of what each level provides to Mahomet drivers:

• HondaTrue Certified+: This is the highest level of Honda CPO vehicle. These cars will be from the current or previous model year and have less than 12,000 miles on the odometer. You’ll get a seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty and an extension of the non-powertrain warranty to five years or 86,000 miles.

• HondaTrue Certified: This is the middle level of Honda CPO vehicles. A vehicle of this grade is closest to the CPO meaning from other manufacturers. A HondaTrue Certified vehicle will be less than five model years old and have less than 80,000 miles. You’ll get an extension of the powertrain warranty to seven years or 100,000 miles. If you’re still within the non-powertrain warranty, you’ll get an extension to four years or 48,000 miles. Vehicles that are out of the non-powertrain warranty will get an additional year or 12,000 miles from the time of purchase.

• HondaTrue Used: This is the lowest grade of Honda used vehicle that still has warranty coverage. Danville drivers will get powertrain and non-powertrain coverage of 100 days or 5,000 miles. Vehicles in this category will be less than 10 years old and are not subject to mileage restrictions.
